What do we all have in common?  We are the 10th of the 12 zodiac signs.  We are all Capricorns.

I don’t know why or when it started, but astrology has always been something that I am extremely connected to, and by in large, astrology answers many of those larger worldly questions that faith, logic, or otherwise fails to explain.  As long as I can remember, when people ask me to describe myself, I start off with, “Well, I’m a Capricorn.”

Some people think I’m crazy or I read into “it” too much, but just like many people identify themselves by their nationality, gender, sexual orientation, or such, I identify myself by my zodiac sign.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t read my horoscope every single day.  In fact, I do quite the opposite, I try not to read it until the end of the day.  I want to see how accurate it was.  What I am really interested in is my natal chart.

Many years ago I went to Myrna Lamb, who has since passed on, but was well-known for her astrological acumen.  I had my natal chart read.  A natal chart is a picture of your astrology of where and when you were born.  Here is a picture of my natal chart:

But what does all of this tell you?  It tells you that my sun sign is in Capricorn, my moon sign is in Pisces, and my rising or ascendant sign is in Libra.  All of that is to stay that I am a determined, hardworking, spiritual, emotional, and intuitive person who always needs to find balance.  I can NEVER make a decision and I’m constantly at war with myself because I never see any situation as black and white….my life is a series of grey.

Again, I can’t tell you why this means so much to me, it just always has.  When I meet someone for the first time, my question always is, “When is your birthday?”.  I don’t want to sound like I’m throwing down a cheesy pick up line, so I avoid the age-old question of “What is your sign”, but when I know someone’s sign, it tells me how I will relate to that person.

In any case, I started this blog to capture the parts of myself that aren’t always evident to the naked eye.  Like a lotus flower, my life journey is constantly blossoming.  Part of my natal chart tells you that I am the kind of person that wants to constantly learn and grow.  In this time of self re-discovery, I am enjoying chronicling my inner thoughts, feeling, and reflections.
